New Venture to Support Cancer Practices in Tough Times

Three prominent community cancer experts form new venture to help community cancer providers. The company, based in Hudson, Ohio, will focus on the enhancement of practice efficiency, provider/patient financial tools, and data solutions at a price point affordable to any practice in the U.S.

Hudson, Ohio (PRWEB) November 15, 2008 -- onPoint Oncology, LLC is pleased to announce the formation of an innovative new company in the Community Oncology space. The entrepreneurial venture, based in Hudson, Ohio, promotes and distributes novel, technology-driven solutions to patients, providers, and manufacturers involved in cancer care.

Initial provider product offerings will be office-based solutions for Medicare-certified e-prescribing; verification of patient/provider benefits; and new methods for cash generation. For cancer companies, the company will produce customized provider data reporting, targeted cancer provider market research, and reimbursement consulting aimed at practices and payers.

"The purpose of onPoint Oncology is to bring to office-based cancer clinics ONLY products with easy adoption, instant financial results, and affordable price tags," says Tracy Lewis, CEO of onPoint Oncology, "Practices do not need to see 20 different vendors everyday to get value. That's why we will do the leg work for them and present only solutions that make an immediate impact on the practice's cash. At the same time, we will partner with the practices to collect information that will benefit cancer companies and their relationships with practices. The ultimate goal is to get cancer care paid for quicker and, thus, maintain the viability of the community cancer care delivery system for our patients. We aim to be the 'win-win' company designed to overcome the challenges practices face and turn them into opportunities."

Mr. Lewis has many years in the Oncology market as Vice President of Sales and Business Development for the International Oncology Network ("ION"), as National Director Sales for P4 Healthcare, and as Sales Manager for Oncology Supply. Partnering with Mr. Lewis will be Bobbi Buell, MBA and Keith Thompson, M.D. Ms. Buell is a well-known reimbursement educator and speaker, as well as being the CEO and founder of Documedics, which was acquired by U.S. Bioservices in 2002 and AmerisourceBergen Specialty Group in 2003. Ms. Buell will be an integral part of product selection, database research, program development and provider market research.

Dr. Thompson is a practicing Medical Oncologist at Montgomery Cancer Center, Montgomery, Alabama, a prominent community-based cancer center. With his extensive experience in the management of electronic data in the field of oncology, Dr. Thompson will use his considerable technical and scientific knowledge to blend payment and clinical data in order to develop customized strategic solutions for providers and manufacturers.
