Wilmington, DE (PRWEB) February 1, 2008 -- The Leukemia Research Foundation of Delaware (LRFDE) hosts their largest fundraiser of the year, their inaugural Black Tie Gala themed "Vegas Nights", Saturday, February, 9 at the Doubletree Hotel on King Street in Wilmington. One hundred percent of the money raised goes directly to research for leukemia and other blood related cancers in hopes of discovering cures.

Vegas Nights, already on its way to being the event of the season, includes a silent and live auction, as well as dinner, a wedding chapel for photographs, guest appearances by "showgirls", and a live band for dancing. All auction items were donated and include Flyers, Sixers, NASCAR, and Eagles v. Cowboys tickets, a king-size bedroom suite, beautiful jewelry, and four days, five nights stay in Las Vegas at the Bellagio―airfare included.

The Leukemia Research Foundation of Delaware was founded by Nick and Denni Ferrara, parents of a leukemia survivor. Denni, after working for years raising funds for blood cancer research, was awarded the Chairman's Citation Award by The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society for her years of commitment and service to the society and its Delaware chapter. She has since focused her fundraising efforts specifically on research in her pursuit for a cure. The Leukemia Research Foundation of Delaware is headquartered in Middletown and is a volunteer-driven foundation that hopes to increase awareness and improve treatment while raising much-needed funds.

The Vegas Nights event, which is currently two tables shy of being sold out, is well on the way to meeting its fundraising goal of $200,000. To participate in Vegas Nights or to help the LRFDE meet and exceed its goal, please contact Denni Ferrara, president of LRFDE at 302-218-6424.
