Lifeclinic Automated Blood Pressure Monitors Selected by New York City Department of Health for Hypertension Awareness Program
Lifeclinic International's LC300 blood pressure monitors were recently selected and purchased by the New York City Health Department for a hypertension awareness campaign. (PRWEB) September 16, 2008 -- Lifeclinic International's LC300 blood pressure monitors (http://www.lifeclinic.com/products.aspx) were recently selected and purchased by the New York City Health Department for a hypertension awareness campaign. The machines are being donated by the Health Department to pharmacies in neighborhoods with high rates of hypertension to increase access to blood pressure monitoring. The monitors will be distributed and maintained by Lifeclinic's dealer, New York Blood Pressure, Inc.
NYBP President Greg Sarkis said, "Our business is about supporting programs such as this by providing state-of-the-art technology and solutions that enable individuals to become proactive in managing their own health."
Hypertension has no outward symptoms, so getting checked is the only way to know if you are at risk. The LC300 provides automated blood pressure and heart rate monitoring. Each unit has a bilingual information display educating users on how to prevent or manage hypertension and co-morbidity disease states such as diabetes, including advice about going to a physician. Users can record their readings on cards available at each LC300. Users with Internet access can manage their readings and other personal health information electronically by creating a personal health record via www.lifeclinic.com. They can make this information available to their healthcare providers, facilitating continuous monitoring in-between office visits -a vital tool for treating and managing hypertensive individuals.
