Shina Systems Announces Participation in a Live Case Transmission in TCT 2007

To be transmitted live via satellite - AngioCt at work in a CTO catheterization procedure during the Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics conference, October 23, Washington DC.

Tel Aviv, Israel (PRWEB) October 17, 2007 -- Shina Systems Ltd., a leading cardiovascular imaging and analysis software provider, announced today that AngioCt - its revolutionary CT and angiography integration product, will be used during a catheterization procedure that will be transmitted live during TCT 2007.

The live case will be transmitted from the Rabin Medical Center in Israel, October 23, 9:00 AM EST, to TCT's main arena, plenary session 9, live case session III.

During the procedure, Prof. Ran Kornowski, Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Institute in the Cardiology Department of Rabin Medical Center, and his team will perform catheterization on a patient suffering from a total block in his artery. The missing path of his artery has been delineated using CardioCt - the Cardiac CT analysis tool developed by Shina Systems.

"We intend to integrate the CT images and bring them into the catheterization laboratory during the course of the intervention," said Prof. Kornowski. "We decided to work with AngioCt to enable us to access the CT data in the catheterization laboratory once it has been synchronized and correlated with the angiogram image. We hope that this unique integration will help us to clearly navigate through the CTO".

AngioCt innovatively integrates 3D cardiac CT data with coronary angiography, enabling the cardiologist to see beyond the lumen. Integrated into regular catheterization procedures, AngioCt brings cardiac CT into the catheterization laboratory, providing cardiologists with key decision making factors for planning and executing the catheterization.
