National Awareness Campaign Keeps Expanding Westward
Television and Yellow Pages advertisements aim to raise awareness of the chiropractic-stroke connection in the western United States. Wethersfield, CT (PRWEB) April 27, 2008 -- The Chiropractic Stroke Awareness Group (CSAG) is continuing the expansion of its chiropractic-stroke awareness campaign to western states, including Colorado, Arizona and California. CSAG is running television ads in the Phoenix area and has placed an advertisement in the Yellow Pages there. The TV commercial asks people if they have been injured by a chiropractor and the Yellow Pages ad provides recommendations on locating responsible chiropractors (compiled by chiropractors and medical doctors) in an effort to raise the professional standards that consumers expect from healthcare providers today. This is the latest phase of a coast-to-coast public relations offensive intended to make the public aware there are possible severe risks to chiropractic treatment. The advertisements are not anti-chiropractic and neither is the organization. "Our purpose is to ensure that people nationwide know there are risks before they go to a chiropractor so they can make informed decisions," said Britt Harwe, Founder of CSAG. CSAG represents the interests of hundreds of chiropractic-stroke victims across the country. "We think the risk of stroke, permanent disability and even death from a simple chiropractic manipulation is worthy of warning the public," Harwe said. Leaders in the chiropractic industry have publicly expressed concerns that warning the public about risks of certain chiropractic manipulations may scare away potential patients. "The public's health should matter more than a chiropractor's bottom line," Harwe said. CSAG is actively preparing to implement further awareness efforts in additional western states.
