Pearl™ Fiber-Coupled Module expanded to 100 watts

7 amps drives 100 watts out of 400 and 600 µm fiber with >50% efficiency.

Vancouver, WA (PRWEB) January 25, 2008 -- nLIGHT Corporation today announced the newest addition to its Pearl™ Fiber-Coupled Module product family: 100 watts with >50% electrical to optical efficiency. The Pearl™ product family is based on single-emitter diodes rather than the 1-cm bar, which resets the industry reliability benchmark for high-power fiber-coupled diode lasers, operating CW or pulsed.

The new offering produces 100 watts at selected wavelengths from 795-980nm out of 400µm or 600µm fiber with 0.22NA. "Utilizing nLIGHT's proprietary nXLT™ single-emitter diodes, greater than 50% wall plug efficiency is achieved," commented Keith Kennedy, Pearl™ Product Line Manager. "High efficiency enables significant system cost-reductions for our customers through higher reliability diodes, the use of low current power supplies, and reduced system cooling requirements." Pearl™ products exhibit a combination of high brightness and high power that are ideally suited for both pumping (DPSSL, Disk Lasers and Fiber Lasers) and direct diode applications such as plastic welding and direct marking.
