First In-Store Dental Center in Texas to Open at Remodeled Carnival Super Market in Plano

All Smiles Dental and Orthodontics to Provide Affordable, Accessible Dental Care - Mobile Clinics to Support Other Carnival Locations, Additional In-Store Centers Planned

Coppell, TX (PRWEB) March 11, 2008 -- Carnival Food Stores, Inc., today announced that the first in-store dental clinic in Texas - an All Smiles Dental and Orthodontics practice - will open at its newly remodeled Carnival Super Market in Plano. Low-cost dental care will also be provided at other Carnival stores through All Smiles' mobile dental clinics.

"A partnership between All Smiles and our Carnival stores makes perfect sense," said Michael D. Byars, president and chief executive officer for Minyard Food Stores, Inc. "We are committed to wellness education and resources for our customers. Offering dental services is one more step we are taking to provide the best services to the neighborhoods we serve. Our MedBasics Family Health Centers, as well as our efforts to bring affordable health insurance to children through our CHIP enrollment drives, are making a huge impact to the lives of our customers.

"With All Smiles' new clinic and its mobile units, both residents around our Plano store and shoppers at our other grocery stores will be able to receive low-cost dental care," Byars continued.

In addition to 15 North Texas dental centers, all Smiles operates two mobile dental clinics. These units will visit a Carnival store every week on a rotating basis to provide basic dental health care beginning in April.

"We're excited about the opportunity to be the first dental provider in Texas to open in a supermarket chain," said Dr. Richard J. Malouf, founder and CEO of All Smiles Dental and Orthodontics. "The focus of the Carnival Super Markets on the Hispanic community, plus its commitment to preventive health education and healthy families fits in perfectly with our customer base. Now we have an opportunity to provide dental care in a convenient and practical setting for our customers."

The 55,000-square-foot supermarket is at 3320 K Ave. just east of Central Expressway and south of Parker Road in Plano. The new All Smiles Dental and Orthodontics center will be open during the week and on various weekends.

All Smiles specializes in providing general dentistry, orthodontics, endodontics, periodontics and pediatric dentistry for low-income families. It accepts Medicaid, CHIP and PPO insurance programs as well as cash plans. Known for its friendly service and bilingual staff, All Smiles reaches over 100,000 people a year through its services and community outreach programs.
