Orange County Dermal Filler Injection Specialist Nissan Pilest Holds Juvederm Training Lecture for Area Physicians

Cosmetic Physicians who want to get "up to speed" on the multiple uses of Dermal Fillers prefer to get their information from long-time injection specialists. Nissan Pilest, Board Certified Dermatologist with a private practice in Irvine and nearly 30 years experience, presented a lecture to a group of physicians on the multiple uses of Juvederm Ultra and Juvederm Ultra Plus, the flagship hyaluronic fillers from Allergan.

Orange County, CA (PRWEB) July 18, 2008 -- Physicians in Orange County, Ca., attended a special training lecture featuring Irvine Board Certified Dermatologist Nissan Pilest, M.D. As a Platinum Plus provider for Allergan and a National Training Facility for Botox, Dr. Pilest is a sought after speaker and trainer for injection technique and novel product usage.

Physicians gathered for an in-depth product overview and professional lecture for Juvederm Ultra and Juvederm Ultra Plus, hyaluronic acid fillers produced by Allergan.

Dr. Pilest shared with the group, "Juvederm products are without doubt among the easiest filler products to use for a multitude of cosmetic corrections and augmentation. It is a very pliable filler with a softness that defies detection once correctly placed in the skin. I use almost as much Juvederm as Botox - and I use a LOT of Botox!"

As with all fillers, Dr. Pilest reiterated how correct placement is crucial. Injected too superficially and patients will see the filler product. Injected too deeply and the product will not produce the correction desired. "Your patients are paying too much for a trial and error type procedure," said Dr. Pilest. "Training is important, even if you feel like you've had plenty of experience with a syringe. The softness of the product is one of the most desirable characters of Juvederm. It is also one of the product characteristics that can lead an inexperienced physician to inject in the wrong plane of the skin."

Dr. Pilest has nearly 3 decades of experience as a dermatologist and is recognized as a master level injectionist. During the session, he discussed a number of "off label" uses for Juvederm. Off label simply means that those particular uses were not part of the FDA submission. For example, Botox was originally approved for strabismus, an eye condition. One of the biggest uses for Botox for years has been for frown lines - that was "off label" for a long time but still perfectly within acceptable use.

Juvederm's (http://www.totaldermatology.com/pages/juvederm.htm) primary indication is for nasolabial folds, and although this is a major use, Juvederm has achieved astounding popularity for lip augmentation, lip corner buttressing, chin augmentation, shallow scar correction and simple augmentation to strengthen the profile of a weak chin. Juvederm is also an instant solution to hollows under the eyes. Other filler products are often used for nose reshaping, but Juvederm is sometimes used for this purpose when someone wishes to "try on" an injection rhinoplasty to align the nose, raise the nose bridge or lift the nose tip.

Dr. Pilest is Medical Director of Total Dermatology (http://totaldermatology.com) located in Irvine, Ca. He is on the Medical Education Faculty for Bioform, makers of Radiesse (http://www.totaldermatology.com/pages/radiance.html), a Thermage (http://totaldermatology.com/pages/thermage.html) Pinnacle winner and is the first dermatologist in Orange County to have the Fraxel Re:pair CO2 skin resurfacing laser (http://www.totaldermatology.com/pages/fraxel-repair.htm).

Physicians interested in training sessions for Juvederm products should contact an Allergan representative for session reservations.
