Leading Cosmetic Dermatologist James Fairfield Sorts Out Ordinary Fractionating Lasers from the True FraxelTM Laser, so Skin Rejuvenation Clients can Make Sure They're Getting the Best Treatment Available

Leading Cosmetic Dermatologist James Fairfield, MD has just released the first of a series of free article on his web site. "FraxelTM -- or just a Fractionating laser? Why it's important to you" is available for immediate download at www.CMDerm.com.

(PRWEB) November 8, 2007 -- Leading Cosmetic Dermatologist James Fairfield, MD has just released the first of a series of free article on his web site. FraxelTM -- or just a Fractionating laser? Why it's important to you is available for immediate download at www.CMDerm.com.

Fairfield explains that the field of cosmetic procedures is booming, and that some doctors and spas are offering treatments that sound like the Fraxel laser treatment -- but aren't.

What is a fractionating laser? Unlike regular cosmetic lasers, it does not burn the outer layer of skin, but passes through it. The controlled pulses of laser energy target certain groups of cells, leaving others alone. But not all fractionating lasers are the same. Some that are called "fractionating" may not really be what professionals would consider the real thing.

Laser companies have attempted to capitalize on the current popularity of these laser treatments with new products. "They've made it easy for anybody to offer what sounds like the latest and greatest in technology," says Fairfield. "Then they'll claim this is just as good and produces the same results."

Fairfield explains the genuine Fraxel laser's unique technology that targets tiny zones below the skin's surface, eliminating damaged cells, stimulating the body's own resources to produce new, fresh collagen and elastic tissue. The Fraxel technology achieves excellent results, toning skin, smoothing fine lines and wrinkles, and erasing discoloration. "It's the leading treatment for acne scars," Fairfield says. Best of all, there's no downtime for recovery.

Fairfield says he's not surprised that some doctors and spas would want clients to believe that their "fractionating laser" device does what the Fraxel does. But this inadequate equipment can produce inferior results, and even burns. "A true skin expert will invest in the real deal," Fairfield notes. Consumers need to know what they are getting, and Fairfield advises making sure you're dealing with a Board Certified Dermatologist -- and getting a genuine Fraxel laser treatment.
