Super Sized Cycles, Bikes for Big Riders, Participates in American Diabetes Association Tour de Cure
For the 65% of Americans who are overweight or obese, bike riding is more a memory than an activity they do on a frequent basis. Their size makes the use of most off-the-rack bikes difficult and dangerous. Super Sized Cycles, created to get these extra large people back on self-powered wheels, participates in and sponsors bike rides to raise funds for the American Diabetes Association. Fairfax, VT (PRWEB) March 1, 2007 -- Joan Denizot, founder of www.SuperSizedCycles.com, understands that "Riding a bike is one of the most satisfying, freeing activities that exist. Super Sized Cycles bikes make it safe and comfortable for everyone to ride a bike. We believe that your weight just a number, not a curse." Denizot was not content with simply providing bikes for big riders. Statistically, Super Sized Cycles customers have a greater than average likelihood of having or getting diabetes. In an effort to encourage participation for some of those most likely to directly suffer from diabetes, Denizot has stepped up the company's commitment to diabetes prevention, appropriately focusing on the American Diabetes Association's (ADA) annual bike tour fundraiser. The Tour de Cure is sponsored by the American Diabetes Association in more than 80 cities across the United States. Super Sized Cycles will have a team, with Denizot as captain, riding in Burlington, Vermont on June 6, 2007. The company, known for it's empathetic approach to helping extra large people rediscover the pure happiness of riding a bike, is also sponsoring a fellow cyclist, who blogs as the Amazing Shrinking Man. Also known as Tom Stormcrowe, he has lost over 350 pounds due, in large part, to bike riding, and will be cycling in the Indianapolis, Indiana Tour de Cure. The vision of Super Sized Cycles is to provide the means and inspiration for people of all sizes to rediscover the joys and freedom of bike riding. Empowering people, one rider at a time, they invite everyone to join them, either in person at their local Tour de Cure, by sponsoring a rider, or in spirit as they support the American Diabetes Association and the people who are affected by diabetes. # # #
