Fit4D to deliver Educational Content and Coaching For JDRF Riders

New York, NY (PRWEB) May 20, 2008 - Fit4D™ (Fitness4Diabetics), and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) announce collaborative efforts to deliver high quality educational content as well as fitness, nutrition and motivational coaching to participants in the 2008 JDRF Ride to Cure Diabetes. Riders with diabetes will receive personalized guidance as to how to train and have a successful Ride while balancing their diet, exercise and insulin. Additional information is available at www.ride.jdrf.org

As part of the JDRF Ride To Cure Diabetes, riders from around the world take on two challenges: raising the critical money needed to fund the research that will cure diabetes, and reaching a personal training goal that will prepare them for their cycling experience.

"Our partnership with Fit4D adds unique value to the Ride to Cure program" said Tim St. Clair JDRF's National Head Coach "The guidance, support and motivation provided to the Riders by Fit4D, coupled with the hands-on coaching provided by JDRF Chapter Coaches, makes the Ride experience especially rewarding for the participants -- and further differentiates the JDRF Ride program."

Fit4D will be providing four web seminars that cover topics specifically designed to support the Riders in their cycling adventure.

  • Thursday May 22; 7:30 PM EDT Diabetes 101

The presentations will be geared towards both the cyclist for whom this is a first Ride and to the intermediate or advanced rider. Fit4D coaches will also address the specific challenges faced by Ride participants who have Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes. National JDRF Ride Coaches will co-present on the terrain and unique challenges faced for each course.

After the presentation component of the webinar, there will be a question and answer period, designed to encourage riders and their support team to ask any questions they may have -- about fitness, nutrition, preparing for the Ride, and any other relevant topics.

The web seminars offer an opportunity to receive support, inspiration and guidance for coping with diabetes --- while also gaining strength from participants and making new friends from around the world.

"Fit4D is honored to support JDRF in support of its mission to find a cure for diabetes," said David G. Weingard, Founder and CEO of Fit4D. "Coping with diabetes on a 24x7 basis can be extremely challenging and contributes to many chronic health problems. The Fit4D team is proud to partner with JDRF and support the tireless efforts of JDRF Riders and Coaches who are committed to help people with diabetes.

The Fit4D Coaching Team includes Certified Diabetes Educators (CDEs) who are nurses, exercise physiologists, registered dietitians and personal trainers skilled in providing human coaching to people with diabetes whether they are experienced athletes or people just beginning an exercise / nutrition program.
