A high demand for daytime physician care and difficulty finding same day appointments prompts AfterOurs to expand hours in Highlands Ranch. Highlands Ranch, CO (PRWEB) July 11, 2008 -- The AfterOurs Urgent Care located at 200 West Countyline Road, in the Highlands Ranch Healthcare Plaza, recently expanded their evening, weekend, and holiday urgent care service offerings to include daytime services. "We had too many people calling with urgent healthcare needs during our non-business hours that either couldn't get into see their doctors, or didn't have a designated primary care physician. We'd refer those callers to community doctors, but many of the practices in Highlands Ranch simply can not accommodate walk-in service and very few will take Medicare, Medicaid, and self pay patients. AfterOurs treats any patient for their acute injuries regardless of their insurance status," said Chris Rehm, Executive Director of AfterOurs.
AfterOurs now offers urgent care services from 8 am to Midnight, 365 days a year, in their Highlands Ranch location, with limited hours on Christmas and Easter. On-site lab and x-ray services are provided and patient treatment records are forwarded to each patient's primary care physician for follow-up care. "We are still committed to referring patients to the appropriate place of service. Patients should always seek care with their primary care physician when possible, and certainly, sharing urgent and emergent treatment records with primary care physicians is a priority for providing the best continuum of care possible," said Mr. Rehm.
Every month, each AfterOurs clinic refers over 250 patients to community physicians for follow-up and primary care. Community physicians accepting new patients are urged to call AfterOurs with their updated practice information.
