Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Approves Cielo MedSolutions' Registry for Automated PQRI Reporting

Cielo Clinic™ helps providers manage and submit PQRI data to earn substantial incentive bonuses from CMS.

Ann Arbor, MI (PRWEB) September 18, 2008 -- Cielo MedSolutions (www.cielomedsolutions.com), a provider of healthcare software and web applications, announces the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) qualified its Cielo Clinic clinical quality management system for submission of Physician Quality Reporting Initiative (PQRI) data on behalf of healthcare providers.

Practices automatically upload PQRI quality data to CMS using Cielo Clinic's registry, eliminating the need to use extra billing codes and cumbersome manual reporting.

PQRI establishes a financial incentive for eligible professionals to participate in a voluntary quality reporting program. Eligible healthcare professionals who successfully report PQRI quality measures may earn an incentive of up to 1.5% of total allowed charges for covered Medicare physician fee schedule services.

Unlike other registries qualified for PQRI reporting, Cielo Clinic (http://www.cielomedsolutions.com/products.asp) supports the ambulatory care guidelines of PQRI. Through a rules engine, providers can receive patient-specific prompts and reminders on any measures at the point of care, plus generate call lists and letters to bring in patients due for services based on care guidelines. Through its table-based rules engine, Cielo Clinic can manage PQRI guidelines alongside other pay-for-performance and quality guidelines, allowing a practice to participate in an unlimited number of quality programs.

"Our customers already use Cielo Clinic to drive quality initiatives, deliver better clinical care and participate in pay-for-performance programs," noted Cielo MedSolutions CEO Dave Morin. "PQRI reporting gives providers yet another significant reason to use Cielo Clinic."
