AMD Telemedicine at CST 2007

U.S. Telemedicine equipment leader to speak and exhibit at 10th Annual Conference of Canada's Premier Telehealth Organization.

N. Chelmsford, MA (PRWEB) November 2, 2007 -- AMD Telemedicine, the world leader in telemedicine equipment, today announced that it would be speaking and exhibiting at Canadian Society of Telehealth's (CST) Annual Conference at the Fairmont Hotel in St. Johns, Newfoundland, November 4-6, 2007.

At the gathering, AMD's Director of Sales, Dr. Deborah Jeffries will be speaking at a pre-conference session on Saturday, November 3, on "Exploring Telemedicine Opportunities by Medical Specialty". The talk will identify new areas of service that telemedicine can support, such as new medical specialties and types of disease states that can be treated. Dr. Jeffries will explore new telemedicine exam possibilities with both existing, and proposed, telemedicine device options.

"Canada is very progressive in its perspective on medicine, as well as its use of telemedicine," said Dr. Jeffries. "Telemedicine is on the verge of serious growth worldwide and we see Canada, as well as the US, on the leading edge of that movement. We always look forward to CST conferences as opportunities to extend our vision for telemedicine in North America and exchange ideas with telehealth professionals here. This is an exciting time for AMD, Canadian telehealth and the telemedicine industry, in general."

At its CST booth (#22), AMD will be featuring a number of its highly acclaimed and in-demand telemedicine instruments and solutions including:

  • AMD-3550 SmartSteth Digital Electronic Stethoscope - AMD's most flexible electronic stethoscope and transmits on almost any communications platform, including "live" and "store and forward" IP. The SmartSteth has great sound quality, powerful analytical software and communications flexibility.

  • AMD-3700 Telephonic Stethoscope - This stethoscope features low data bandwidth and high performance. The same model can be used as a transmit or receive unit.

  • AMD-2500 General Examination Camera - The general examination camera combines power zoom, auto focus, freeze frame, and electronic image polarization in one diagnostic device, giving the AMD-2500 wide application in primary care, emergency medicine/trauma care, dermatology, ophthalmology, and wound care. Available in NTSC or PAL video format.

  • AMD's ENT Set which includes:

  • AMD-400s Camera & Illumination Source - These are the analog and digital camera and light source that drive a wide variety of diagnostic scopes and produce the superior quality images one needs for accurate diagnosis. This pair is found in almost all primary care telemedicine clinics. Available in NTSC or PAL video format.
