TAALK Presents its First Child Sexual Abuse Prevention Program In Orange County, California

The non-profit corporation TAALK, Talk About Abuse to Liberate Kids, was formed to increase awareness of the child sexual abuse epidemic and educate the public on ways to protect kids. On March 8, 2008, it will present a program to educate adults to prevent, recognize, and react responsibly to child sexual abuse and to take proactive steps to protect children.

Laguna Niguel, CA (PRWEB) March 5, 2008 -- The non-profit corporation TAALK, Talk About Abuse to Liberate Kids, was formed to increase awareness of the child sexual abuse epidemic and educate the public on ways to protect kids. On March 8, 2008, it will present a program in Mission Viejo, CA to educate adults to prevent, recognize, and react responsibly to child sexual abuse and to take proactive steps to protect children.

The March 8 interactive prevention program, Stewards of Children, was developed by Darkness to Light, a national child sexual abuse prevention organization. Participants will learn the "7 Steps to Protecting Our Children," Darkness to Light's core educational tool for sexual abuse prevention.

Workshop attendees will receive a workbook detailing simple principles of choice, consciousness, and personal power to understand the nature and impact of childhood sexual abuse. The class will be held from 9 a.m. till noon at the Crossline Church administrative offices in Mission Viejo. The cost is $35.

The Stewards of Children program being offered on March 8 in Orange County, California, is the first of ongoing classes to educate adults about this serious problem. Classes will continue to be offered the second Tuesday of every month at the same location.

TAALK's vision is to inspire community coalitions to accept responsibility for educating their residents on how to better protect the children in their community from child sexual abuse.

As part of TAALK's community coalition program, it plans to expand the Stewards of Children training into other communities in California as well as the rest of the nation.

"Child sexual abuse is a community problem, but child sexual abuse prevention is a personal decision, said TAALK's founder, Diane Cranley. Protecting children from sexual abuse is a learned skill and this class will teach you to react responsibly to child sexual abuse."

In addition to the TAALK awareness programs and primary prevention education, TAALK provides support services to victims and their families and provides prevention program consulting to youth serving organizations. TAALK's website is filled with valuable information to help individuals, organizations and communities prevent child sexual abuse.

For additional information on attending the March 8, Stewards of Children program or finding out more information about preventing child sexual abuse, please contact Diane Cranley at 1-888-808-6558 or visit www.taalk.org.
