CEO Jeffrey Tolbert Announced as "Executive of the Year."

Birmingham, AL (PRWEB) August 3, 2008 -- The country's leading air ambulance company, AirMed International, and its CEO Jeffrey Tolbert took home two awards in the 12th Annual "Best in Business" Awards presented by the Birmingham Business Journal.

AirMed International was announced as the winner in the category of Best Company: 101-400 employees. CEO Jeff Tolbert accepted the award on behalf of "the 216 dedicated employees who make me proud to come to work every day."

The night's final category was Executive of the Year, bringing AirMed's total award tally to two when Tolbert was announced the winner. "It is a great honor to be recognized in your hometown among these outstanding nominees. Thank you again," said Tolbert.

Receiving his commercial pilot's license at age 18, Tolbert was the first in North America to use jets for medical transportation and is credited with pioneering the U.S. air ambulance membership program. As the largest fixed wing air medical program in the country, AirMed International has five bases worldwide, twelve aircraft in its fleet, and is headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama.
