Healthcare Management, Consulting Leader QHR Names Rick Drake Senior Vice President of Business Development

Rick Drake, with more than 30 years' experience and expertise in this area, joined the company as senior vice president of Business Development in July.

Rick Drake, with more than 30 years' experience and expertise in this area, joined the company as senior vice president of Business Development in July.

According to Horrar, as senior vice president of Business Development, Drake will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of new-client business development, including the building, training and maintaining of a world-class sales team. He will also be charged with developing strategies that will successfully broaden QHR's client base - allowing the company to expand into new markets and hospitals.

A New England native, Rick Drake previously served as vice president of client management for UnitedHealthcare National Accounts, located in Hartford, Conn. In this role, he contributed significantly to the development of the company's corporate client, retiree, member and labor engagement strategies, and helped shape external messaging while contributing to performance management. Prior to this, Drake was vice president of business development for DreamReacher, Inc. in Rocky Hill, Conn.; vice president, market development, of CIGNA Reinsurance in Hartford, Conn.; senior vice president and chief marketing officer of College Savings Bank in Princeton, N.J.; and held various senior-level positions at Aetna Life and Casualty, also in Hartford.

Drake is a Six Sigma Champion, a fellow of the International Society of Certified Employee Benefit Specialists (ISCEBS), and a certified employee benefit specialist (CEBS). He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Colby College in Waterville, Maine.
