RAC Program Specialist Glenn Krauss Joins QHR As Senior Consultant

QHR President and CEO James L. Horrar announced recently that Glenn Krauss, a health information management and recovery audit contractor (RAC) program specialist, has joined the company as a senior consultant. In his new role, Krauss will focus on chart capture and coding audits, chargemaster reviews and maintenance, and issues specific to the RAC program.

Brentwood, TN (PRWEB) August 18, 2008 -- QHR (http://www.qhr.com) President and CEO James L. Horrar announced recently that Glenn Krauss, a health information management and recovery audit contractor (RAC) program specialist, has joined the company as a senior consultant. In his new role, Krauss will focus on chart capture and coding audits, chargemaster reviews and maintenance (http://www.qhr.com/qhr2.nsf/View/qhrconsultingservicesoverview), and issues specific to the RAC program.

"In the face of increasing losses from RAC recoupments of Medicare reimbursements, it's critical that hospitals understand and are capable of managing the RAC appeals process," said Horrar. "With assistance from Glenn, who has considerable expertise in this area, QHR will ensure its hospital clients survive the RAC - taking back their 'take-backs,' as appropriate."

A veteran of the healthcare industry with more than 15 years of experience, Krauss previously worked with a variety of healthcare organizations, ranging from fully integrated healthcare systems and a community-based medical center to a full-service healthcare consulting practice and a physician-guided healthcare organization. He is also a published author on the subject of coding and regularly speaks publically on a number of HIM-related subjects, including clinical documentation improvements and coding best practices.

Krauss holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Hofstra University in Hempstead, N.Y., and certificates in health information administration and case management/health outcomes management from the University of Washington and the New England Healthcare Assembly, respectively. He is also a coding instructor (CPT and E&M coding) at Northeastern University in Boston, Mass.
