TrialStat's ESRNexus Links Specific Search Results to Trial Recruitment Through ClinicalTrials.gov
SRS integration with ESRNexus is complete. Ottawa, ON (PRWEB) September 13, 2007 -- TrialStat Corporation, a clinical data solutions on demand company, today bolstered the search capabilities of ESRNexus™ by incorporating up-to-date clinical trial recruitment postings from ClinicalTrials.gov. Developed by the National Library of Medicine, ClinicalTrials.gov posts public and private-sector sponsored recruitment listings for clinical trials. ClinicalTrials.gov has recruitment notifications for more than 41,000 clinical studies and receives more than 20 million page views per month. ESRNexus users, for example, can now search reference abstracts on lung cancer research, while simultaneously reviewing clinical trial recruitment postings on the disease from ClinicalTrials.gov. In addition, TrialStat has finalized the integration between SRS™, the company’s Web-based systematic review solution, and ESRNexus. By linking their accounts to ESRNexus, SRS users can import articles directly from their ESRNexus clipboards to their SRS-based systematic review. Users can also share systematic review protocols and reference articles by publishing them to ESRNexus. SRS is the world’s only Web-based commercial solution designed to streamline the screening and data extraction phases of systematic reviews. “ESRNexus now provides a single destination for medical literature search and clinical trial recruitment listings,” said Peter O’Blenis, Vice President Systematic Reviews, TrialStat. “For the general public, this combination represents a trusted, peer reviewed resource for both published and ongoing clinical research. Systematic reviewers, meanwhile, using SRS have the ability to share their coded information through ESRNexus simply and easily through our integration of the two products.” ESRNexus enables users to search, share and re-use references, and manually extract data from peer-reviewed reference literature, such as academic journals. Using TrialStat’s SRS 4.0, users can codify general information from journal articles, which they can then publish to ESRNexus through an easy-to-use wizard. Since its beta launch, the literature search engine has more than 250,000 reference contributions from leading academic institutions. With contributions from Stanford University, McMaster University and the University of Central Florida – among others – ESRNexus provides information that has been organized, reviewed and tagged by professional researchers. Key goals of ESRNexus are to reduce the cost of ongoing research through data sharing and reuse and to provide health care consumers with an easy-to-use, free and trusted source of peer-reviewed reference material.
