Atlanta, Georgia (PRWEB) November 6, 2007 -- Atlanta, Georgia based Subacute Services, Inc. today announced that its affiliates have signed three thirty-year nursing home leases in the State of Georgia. Summit Health & Rehabilitation Center (formerly Forum Healthcare at Mount Berry Nursing and Rehabilitation Center) and Evergreen Health & Rehabilitation Center (formerly Forum Healthcare at Moran Lake Nursing and Rehabilitation Center) are located in Rome, Georgia and Live Oaks Health & Rehabilitation Center (formerly Forum Healthcare at Wildwood Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center) is located in Brunswick, Georgia. The three facilities have 404 beds combined.

The leases will begin after certain conditions are met within the next thirty days. It is anticipated the State of Georgia and Federal Regulatory licensing process will begin within the next thirty days and concluded within sixty days so the facilities can begin admitting patients. Subacute Services affiliate owns the highly regarded Countryside Nursing Home located in Buchanan, Georgia and operates the Rockmart Nursing Home located in Rockmart, Georgia, which recently reported a zero deficiency licensure survey. In addition, Subacute Services affiliate owns the Sunrise Health and Rehabilitation Center located in Sunrise, Florida. Sunrise was the recipient of the prestigious "Best Nursing Home in South Florida" award.

Speaking on behalf of the company, Karen Forrister, VP and Chief Operating Officer said: "We are happy to have these facilities become part of the Subacute Services family. Unfortunately, in the past, these facilities were not well managed by the former operator, the Forum Group of Rome, Georgia. With the exception of performing certain duties as a landlord, the Forum Group will no longer be involved in the operation of these facilities. Subacute Services' philosophy is to be a good and honest member of the community. As a primary condition of our leases, we have insisted that the Forum Group pay in full all unpaid wages to former employees within thirty days and attempt, to the extent possible, to pay past due health insurance premiums so former employee health insurance benefits can be paid. We strongly believe that giving good care is our responsibility and that is exactly what we have done in the past and intend to do in these facilities. We realize that reopening a facility can be a challenge, but we are confident we are up to the task. We bring a wealth of talent and experience to this opportunity, and look forward to providing the same high quality of care consistently provided at our other locations." Visit www.sunrisehc.com
