New HAHA Personal Communicator Introduced in the United States by SoundBytes

Hearing Assistive Aid Facilitates One-on-One Communication Using Digital Sound and Ultraviolet Sterilization

Jericho, NY (PRWEB) April 2, 2008 -- SoundBytes, a division of Independent Living Aids, Inc., announced that it has become the exclusive United States based distributor of the HAHA Personal Communicator. Manufactured by Kunyoong IBC Co, Ltd, a Korean-based firm, the HAHA is one the first assistive devices designed specifically for use in public places, business offices, and over-the counter conversations. The small wireless unit consists of a handheld device, similar to a telephone handset, and the base. The HAHA is used like a telephone and it amplifies sound through its built-in microphone. The base doubles as an ultraviolet sterilization charger, which affords each user the comfort of handling a clean device. Providing more than 10 hours of use on a single charge, the unit amplifies sound up to an additional 45dB, which can help hard of hearing individuals communicate better in many situations.

With its unique design, the HAHA is ideal for banks, doctor's offices, ticket counters, admission windows and other common places where a hard of hearing person may have a difficult time understanding a conversation. Using a Digital Signal Processing (DSP) application, like those found in many hearing aids, the HAHA has a crisp, clear sound. It is also hearing aid compatible so all individuals may benefit from the increased amplification.

"This is a perfect solution for many businesses and organizations who may have hard of hearing individuals enter their facility," said Michael Abramowitz, Managing Director of SoundBytes. "Confusion, miscommunication and feelings of frustration can be easily avoided by having this device available for those who may need it."

The HAHA is available directly from SoundBytes at www.soundbytes.com , or by calling SoundBytes at 888-816-8191. Package includes the HAHA and charger, AC Adapter, instruction manual, and carrying case. Cell phone connector sold separately.
