Coalters Estate And Lettings Agents York are going to raise £10,000 for a high dependency unit at York Hospital's Paediatric Ward. To launch this fund raising, Coalters are asking the good people of York to guess how many balloons there are in a Mini, but all for a good cause! Future fund raising will come from asking sellers, buyers, landlords & tenants for donations. A charity concert and prize raffle will take place on Friday 19th September in York.

(PRWEB) August 8, 2008 -- Coalters Estate Agents to raise £10,000 towards a high dependency unit at York Hospital's Paediatric Ward.

Ever had to guess how many coins there are in a jar?

Well, Coalters, York's award winning estate and letting agents, are taking things one step further and asking the good people of York to guess how many balloons there are in a Mini, but all for a good cause!

This fun event, which will be held this Saturday 9th August, on Parliament Street, York, is to help Reuben Barrett, Coalters' founder, raise £10,000 for Guardian Angels, the York Press' campaign to raise £300,000 for a high dependency unit at York Hospital Paediatric Ward.

Reuben has a very personal reason for supporting the campaign, following the tragic death of his newborn son, Finlay, three years ago.

Finlay, who was born in August 2005, lived for only nine days, despite a courageous battle to fight a blood infection he was born with.

"My family and I know, sadly from personal experience, how essential high dependency units are to premature and sick babies. I'm absolutely determined to reach our £10,000 fundraising target to help other sick babies get the best chance in life they possibly can."

One of Coalters' distinctive Minis, which will be bursting to the bumpers with balloons will be parked on Parliament Street, York, this Saturday 9th August from 9am to 5pm.

Reuben is urging as many people as possible to come down to Parliament Street on Saturday and try their luck at guessing how many balloons can actually fit into a Mini! Reuben hopes to raise money for the appeal by charging a small donation for each entry.

The lucky winner will win a hot air balloon ride over York for two.

This is the first of a series of events that Coalters is undertaking in order to raise its target of £10,000. The next event, a benefit concert and raffle, on Friday 19th September, will be taking place at The Crescent Working Men's Club, The Crescent, York. Coalters' employee Sarah Stabler's band, The Players, will be providing all the tunes for the night!

If you'd like tickets for the concert, please contact Coalters on 01904 655222.

Coalters, founded by Reuben Barrett just over a year ago in April 2007, has grown rapidly to become York's third largest estate agents and has recently expanded to offer lettings. Coalters aims to be the largest estate and letting agent in the city within the next year.
