RE/MAX Northern Illinois Real Estate Agents Raises $284,000 For CMN In 2008, An 18 Percent Increase Over Prior Year

RE/MAX Northern Illinois real estate agents make record donation to the Children's Miracle Network (CMN) in 2008, exceeding 2007 donations by $43,000 despite a difficult real estate market. RE/MAX is the Chicago real estate/Illinois real estate leader in residential real estate. Funds raised for CMN pr imarily benefit Children's Memorial Hospital in Chicago.

Elgin, IL (PRWEB) January 16, 2009 -- The RE/MAX Northern Illinois real estate (http://www.illinoisproperty.com) network reports that its 3,000 agents raised $284,000 for the Children's Miracle Network (CMN) in 2008, surpassing the 2007 total of $241,000 by 18 percent. This was a noteworthy accomplishment given a difficult real estate market.

"We are especially proud of the effort our agents made and the results they delivered in 2008 to assist CMN and the great work of the hospitals that it supports," said Jim Merrion, regional director of the RE/MAX Northern Illinois, the leader in the Chicago real estate (http://www.illinoisproperty.com/remaxil/default.asp?p=chicago-il-real-estate.asp) market. "Even in a challenging Illinois real estate market, our agents remain committed to helping children and families."

RE/MAX is the official real estate sponsor of CMN, and most funds raised for that organization in the northern Illinois region go directly to Children's Memorial Hospital of Chicago. Contributions from RE/MAX agents in the western part of the region benefit the Children's Hospital of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa.

The donations to CMN are generated in a number of ways, with nearly all of the funds coming directly from RE/MAX agents, most in the form of either a single annual gift or a contribution made each time the agent closes a real estate transaction.

Special fundraising events created by RE/MAX offices are another source of support. In 2008, these activities included parties, sports competitions and community events.

In addition to its sponsorship of CMN, RE/MAX is the exclusive real estate partner and a Platinum Sponsor of Children's Memorial Hospital in Chicago.

The 3,000 RE/MAX associates in northern Illinois are pleased to support the efforts of the hospital through a variety of fundraising activities as they continue to lead in residential real estate.
