Web support of self-scheduling module is the primary new functionality of the latest version of the software, which RES-Q will demonstrate at HIMSS.

Calabasas, CA (PRWEB) January 4, 2007 -- RES-Q® Healthcare Systems announced the release of version 9.0 of RES-Q® Labor Resource Management, its staffing and scheduling software for hospitals. The enterprise system delivers results that hospitals count on to maximize productivity: faster scheduling, reduced use of costly overtime and outside agency staff and more consistency in the application of scheduling rules. Version 9.0 features Web support of RES-Q's optional Self-scheduling Module, which registered employees can use to view their departments' schedules, request open shifts and propose exchanging shifts with colleagues.

RES-Q Labor Resource Management is a modular, PC-based client/server software system built with Sybase PowerBuilder. By moving the self-scheduling application objects and code to the Web in a true Java environment, RES-Q enables users to access and run self-scheduling from a Web browser. This makes the module easier to use, particularly for employees logging on from home.

Version 9.0 also includes several enhancements suggested by users. For example, the RES-Q Education Module provides specialized tools to manage continuing medical education (CME) class scheduling, registration and attendance tracking. In 9.0, this module is more fully integrated so that when employees are registered for classes, RES-Q Labor Resource Management automatically adjusts their work schedules to reflect the dates and times of their classes. In addition, to better support surgical staff scheduling, users can note the specific operating rooms within a shift for which employees are scheduled and print schedules that list room assignments for scheduled staff.

RES-Q Healthcare Systems will demonstrate its staffing and scheduling software solutions at the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Annual Conference & Exhibition, February 25 to March 1, 2007, Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, New Orleans, La. RES-Q will be located at booth #3165.
