Physician Placements Up Ten Percent in Major Metropolitan Areas

The Delta Companies recently released the second quarter edition of The Physician Recruiting Standard, a free resource that provides a summary of current data and market trends in physician recruitment.

Dallas, TX (PRWEB) August 23, 2007 -- The Delta Companies recently released the second quarter edition of The Physician Recruiting Standard, a free resource that provides a summary of current data and market trends in physician recruitment.

The latest data indicates a ten percent increase from last quarter in placements with a population greater than 100,000.

“Metropolitan facilities are increasing the utilization of search firms and are becoming more open with candidate parameters due to the competitive measures being taken by their rural counterparts,” said Rob Landstad, vice president of Delta Physician Placement.

When comparing the data on compensation over the past year, pulmonary critical care saw a 16 percent drop in average starting compensation. Conversely, emergency medicine shows the largest increase in average starting compensation, raising nearly 13 percent in the past year.

An additional trend to watch is the increasing demand for urologists. The specialty jumped from the fifteenth to the seventh most requested search by hospitals over the past year.
