InventHelp® Teams Up With Central Blood Bank for Fifth Annual Blood Drive

InventHelp® and Central Blood Bank will partner to gather in-house blood donations and lend their time and energy to help improve the blood bank's reserve.

Pittsburgh, PA (PRWEB) May 2, 2008 -- For the fifth consecutive year, InventHelp® will be a group contributor to Central Blood Bank's annual blood drive. The two will partner to gather in-house blood donations and lend their time and energy to help improve the blood bank's reserve.

In business for over 20 years, the InventHelp® corporate offices are housed in downtown Pittsburgh and employ approximately 200 people. For each of the past four blood drives, over 10 percent of InventHelp® employees have donated blood, with even the President of InventHelp® getting in on the act.

To prepare for the arrival of Central Blood Bank technicians, InventHelp® recruits team leaders from different departments within the organization. The leaders are charged with the task of encouraging and motivating people to sign up to give blood in the weeks leading up to the blood drive. By the time the day of the drive rolls around, InventHelp® already has a list of employees with assigned times to give blood. And, of course, walk-ins are welcome, too.

Established in 1951, Central Blood Bank is a Pittsburgh-based not-for-profit organization providing blood products and related transfusion services to more than 40 hospitals in Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Crawford, Lawrence, Mercer, Venango, Washington and Westmoreland counties in Pennsylvania, as well as selected communities in northern West Virginia and eastern Ohio.

Several InventHelp® employees know firsthand the importance of blood donations. When longtime InventHelp® employee Livia Bebing was diagnosed with myelodysplasia several years ago, she needed blood transfusions on a regular basis. Over the course of four years, she received nearly 200 transfusions before treatments helped put her in remission.

"The blood bank says, 'Donating Blood Saves Lives,' and that could not be more true," says Bebing. "A lot of people wouldn't be here if no one gave blood. Whenever we needed it, it was there and we couldn't be more thankful to those who gave their time. That donation always makes a big difference."

Stories like Livia's, as well as those of friends and family members, inspire InventHelp® employees to participate in the company's annual blood drive with Central Blood Bank. With an even greater awareness on the need for donations, InventHelp® is hoping that their fifth annual blood drive is their most successful to date.
