Urgent Legal Alert – Popular Peanut Butter Brands Contaminated With Salmonella How Victims Can Protect Their Legal Rights

A Salmonella outbreak has sickened nearly 300 people in 39 states, including Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia. A Salmonella outbreak has sickened nearly 300 people in 39 states, including Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia. The source of the bacterium has been linked to Peter Pan and Great Value peanut butter. Edgar Snyder & Associates, a law firm representing injured people, is helping victims to protect their rights.

“We recommend that anyone who has been sickened by the contaminated peanut butter seek medical help immediately,” said Attorney Michael Rosenzweig, a partner with the law offices of Edgar Snyder & Associates. “We are also advising our clients and anyone who has symptoms of Salmonella poisoning to seek advice from an attorney as soon as possible. Based on years of experience in handling Salmonella claims, we know the longer you wait to get legal help, the harder it will be to prove your claim.”

To identify the infected Peter Pan and Great Value peanut butter, locate the product code on the lid of the jar. If the code begins with “2111” and the jar was purchased since May 2006, do not eat it. The peanut butter in question may cause Salmonella poisoning, which causes symptoms including diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, abdominal cramps, fever and headaches. Salmonella can be fatal in people with weakened immune systems.

When seeking medical treatment, patients should ask that a stool culture be done for a clear diagnosis of Salmonella poisoning. This is the only way the county board of health can confirm Salmonella poisoning. If the illness is not confirmed, victims could lose their right to legal compensation.

If you have the potentially contaminated brands, save the jar of peanut butter by covering it with a plastic bag. Place it in the refrigerator so that it can be tested to confirm the bacteria. It is important to maintain clean hygiene, as hand washing helps reduce the risk of spreading Salmonella.

Edgar Snyder & Associates has experience representing the victims of national and local outbreaks of tainted food. The law firm represented victims of recent Salmonella outbreaks, including one involving an Ohio restaurant, and another that affected people in Pennsylvania and surrounding states who contracted Salmonella from tainted tomatoes at convenience stores. Edgar Snyder & Associates also helped victims of the E.coli illness that affected hundreds of people who ate tainted spinach last fall, and the law firm represented numerous people who acquired Hepatitis A dining at a franchise restaurant in Beaver County, Pennsylvania.
