Dr. Erika Schwartz Clarifies Thyroid Issue in Latest Column

DrErika says there will never will there be one pill to cure all our problems. Thus the more you know and the more you do to integrate all the pieces of your life, the more likely you are to feel great and find balance and permanent wellness.

New York, NY (PRWEB) December 18, 2007 -- The thyroid gland has been overlooked for years by conventional doctors despite the fact it directly affects our weight, energy level, sex life and sleep, writes Erika Schwartz, MD in her latest column available now at www.drerika.com.

Fortunately all that is changing, according to DrErika, who founded www.drerika.com to help women become strong, smart and healthy through education, empowerment and kindness.

She says today's doctors are becoming more enlightened and they understand that if your thyroid is not well balanced the rest of your body won't be either and you will never feel right, no matter how many hormones and supplements or medications you take.

DrErika says there will never will there be one pill to cure all our problems. Thus the more you know and the more you do to integrate all the pieces of your life, the more likely you are to feel great and find balance and permanent wellness.

Thyroid is a key ingredient to hormone balance and that besides using bioidentical estradiol, progesterone, testosterone and supplements, diet and exercise, thyroid function must be addressed and treated as part of the whole picture from the very start if success is to be achieved.

DrErika says the traditional blood test used to diagnose low thyroid cannot be relied upon alone because doctors need to build a more complete picture of the patient as an individual to make the right diagnosis. Since we are unique individuals what is a normal reading for one of us may be quite high or low to another.

To find out more about thyroid issues and the best way to treat them, read DrErika's latest column www.drerika.com and check out all her previous blogs on issues of interest to women.
www.drerika.com is a resource for all women willing to take responsibility for creating healthy lives for themselves without being intimidated or victimized.
