Kansas City Life Selects CRYPTOCard's Two-factor Authentication

One of America's long-standing life insurers chooses CRYPTOShield to improve remote access.

Ottawa, ON and Bristol, UK (PRWEB) May 27, 2008 -- CRYPTOCard, a leading provider of Two-factor authentication technology, today announced that Kansas City Life Insurance Company (NASDAQ: KCLI ) has selected CRYPTO-Shield, two-factor authentication technology from CRYPTOCard.

CRYPTOCard

Established in 1895, Kansas City Life Insurance Company markets individual life, annuity and group products through general agencies located throughout the United States. The company’s home office staff includes more than 500 associates and it has agency force of more than 1,400 agents, serving 48 states and the District of Columbia. Kansas City Life Insurance Company insures more than half a million policyholders from coast to coast.

Kansas City Life Insurance Company depends on remote access for a number of its employees and recognizes that traditional passwords are not secure enough to protect mission-critical data. Subsequently, the company selected CRYPTOShield for its ability to work within a multi-vendor environment and the unique features of its software and tokens, which combine to offer Kansas City Life the lowest possible total cost of ownership and highest achievable security.

"Our decision came down to efficiency and cost effectiveness. CRYPTOCard's tokens have long battery life, the licenses don't expire and that's the way it should be," said Keith Beatty, Systems Engineer, Kansas City Life Insurance Company. "What really got my attention was the CRYPTOCard licensing agreement. All the features come included with CRYPTOCard; the software is multi-platform ready out of the box; and when you buy, you get every software module CRYPTOCard makes. The simplicity of configuration and set-up of the server software made it the far superior option when it came to selecting something that needs to be easy to buy, deploy and maintain."

"CRYPTOCard works on the premise that customers want simple solutions. Our customers need not worry about rigid upgrade processes as their IT environments evolve, nor should they concern themselves with 'clock-watching' hardware that is set to expire," said Bill Laham, Senior Vice President, North America and Products, CRYPTOCard. "We have designed our offering to make password management and policy administration a simple process. Many customers have significant investments in their IT infrastructure and our goal is to help them keep their environment untouched and intact."

"I have had nothing but great experiences with CRYPTOCard. When I call, I get a real person, not a voicemail maze. Furthermore, I get every issue solved immediately. I like the company's responsiveness and the personal touch," added Beatty.
