Planisware Cited by Independent Research Firm in Research Report on Corporate Portfolio Management

Traditional PPM Flow
Traditional PPM Flow

Planisware solution includes finance and marketing in portfolio decision process.

San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) October 9, 2008 -- Planisware today announced that it has been cited by Forrester Research as one of the market solutions for Corporate Portfolio Management (CPM) in an August 2008 report Road Map: Corporate Portfolio Management -- A New Market For Project Portfolio Management

The author, Tim Harmon, Senior Analyst for Forrester states, "To invigorate the market and deliver new growth, smart PPM vendor strategists will adapt core technologies -- resource management and portfolio management -- to satisfy the information management needs of a broader enterprise audience, including CFOs, financial planners, business development executives, and general managers (GMs)".

Where traditional PPM solutions tend to be focused on R&D and/or IT only, CPM requires a concerted effort and participation by both finance and marketing. In Corporate Portfolio Management the goal is to maximize portfolio value at any time in the product life cycle based upon expected revenue, ROI and NPV. This differs from the traditional PPM method of examining simply schedule and budget in order to ascertain the health of the portfolio.

Mr. Harmon also points out, "Planisware functions well. Although its geographical and vertical markets are limited, Planisware has a highly configurable product, making it suitable for many different types of project-initiative applications, and financial modeling capabilities that come closest to meeting CPM financial management requirements."

Pierre Demonsant, CEO of Planisware commented, "Innovative companies want to monitor the value of their capital investment portfolios and subsequently the ongoing return on investment of each product or project in the development pipeline. This can be accomplished only if the solution at hand allows for and encourages participation from finance and marketing. Our focus on providing this complete solution has resulted in strong interest from many industries outside of our traditional markets and we anticipate strong future growth in these other markets."

Planisware is uniquely qualified to be used for both Corporate Portfolio Management and IT Portfolio Management, or a combination of the two. As more companies look to standardize on fewer applications Planisware is best suited for those organizations looking to manage all projects and capital investments under one umbrella.
