TIMS Software Focuses on New Regulatory Rules

Computers Unlimited announces the release of TIMS software version 3.4 (http://www.cu.net/newsletter/med/Sept08med.htm) this month. Enhancements include key features like special programming for the home medical industry that addresses competitive bidding and the new 36-month oxygen rule as well as online insurance eligibility.

(PRWEB) October 19, 2008 -- Computers Unlimited (www.cu.net) recently released version 3.4 of the TIMS software. While a handful of minor revisions were issued over the last few months, version 3.4 is the first major update involving significant enhancements since January 2008.

High on the list of enhancements is A/R Manager, which is the new generation of Cash Application. A/R Manager provides all of the functionality plus an updated design with modern twists including extensive on-screen information and personal worker customization for more efficient work-flows.

"This is by far our biggest offering with this update to TIMS," says David Schaer, Computers Unlimited Director of Product Management and Marketing. "With A/R Manager's new capabilities, our customers will be able to design new ways to drive their collection agency's efficiency and recovery to higher levels than ever before."

Other improvements include a new Credit Card system that provides a secure option for customers to pay via credit card, real-time pricing and flexible new display controls in Mobile Delivery, updates in Order Processing and Truck Distribution, and TIMS' powerful new patient management inquiry module, Customer Centric.

Perhaps the most important v3.4 TIMS enhancement is new programming that addresses Medicare's 36-month oxygen billing rule and the recently postponed competitive billing requirements. In the v3.4 release, TIMS software identifies the insurance companies that use the ruling and provides the ability to store rental items and corresponding customer-owned items. Also significant is the ability to perform online insurance eligibility verification in real-time.

The next version of TIMS Pharmacy includes similar updates to pharmacy medical billing requirements, in addition to several across the board improvements involving Oral Medications and IV Therapy management.
