TTM Congress Reviewed in Journal ICU Management

The newest issue of ICU Management, the official voice of the International Symposium on Intensive Care and Emergency Medicine (ISICEM), features a comprehensive review of the 1st Annual International Therapeutic Temperature Management Congress (TTM Congress) by Dr. Kees Polderman, Vice Chairman, Department of Intensive Care, University Medical Center, Utrecht, Netherlands, and Lead Faculty of the Congress.

Cincinnati, OH (PRWEB) January 29, 2008 -- The newest issue of ICU Management, the official voice of the International Symposium on Intensive Care and Emergency Medicine (ISICEM), features a comprehensive review of the 1st Annual International Therapeutic Temperature Management Congress (TTM Congress) by Dr. Kees Polderman, Vice Chairman, Department of Intensive Care, University Medical Center, Utrecht, Netherlands, and Lead Faculty of the Congress.

Showcasing the most recent clinical developments and therapies, ICU Management captures best-practice, cost-efficiency, and patient/staff-satisfaction trends in critical care and emergency medicine. The publication draws on the expertise of several important organizations, including the European Society of Intensive Care Medicine, the ECRI Institute, and the Society for Critical Care Medicine (SCCM).

The current ICU Management edition (Volume 7, Issue 4) focuses on critical care and emergency medicine safety, an area in which induced hypothermia therapy benefits increasingly are credited – and around which the TTM Congress was commenced. Dr. Polderman’s review, “Induced Hypothermia & Neurological Outcome: The 1st Therapeutic Temperature Management Congress,” highlights the growing adoption of therapeutic hypothermia in the critical-care and emergency-medicine fields as well as the particular tracks of discussion and inquiry guiding the leading best-practice protocols to date and ongoing.

Remarked Dr. Polderman, “ICU Management is dedicated to improving critical patient therapy and delivery effectiveness through dissemination of important information. Induced hypothermia and the TTM Congress find their origins in this very issue: for a variety of applications, cooling solutions are associated with improved neurological outcome for critical patients; the TTM Congress will continue to serve as an expert, collaborative resource, available to advance understanding and impact in this important treatment area.”

In response to the publication release, Mark Beran, Vice President and General Manager of CSZ Medical, founding TTM Congress sponsor and a developer of advanced patient temperature management systems, including highly effective and efficient cooling products, remarked “Medical journal and other publication coverage of the congress is quite simply an additional validation of the value in these therapies. We are working alongside the medical community and with other sponsors to produce an even more remarkable event in 2008.”

The 2nd Annual TTM Congress (TTM Congress 2008) is to be held in Barcelona, Spain from October 1st-4th, 2008. For additional details, please visit www.ttmcongress2008.com.
