InventHelp® Client Invents "Math Splash" - A Board Game Invention That Could Help Players Sharpen Math Skills

Pittsburgh, PA (PRWEB) April 23, 2008 -- InventHelp®, America's largest inventor service company, announces that one of its clients, an inventor from Crawley, Tx., has designed an education game that could help players learn math skills. This invention is patented and a prototype is available.

The "Math Splash" game could offer an interactive and entertaining way to teach players about math and multiplication. The invention could be more effective than simple oral questions and answer process. Successful answers could give students a sense of accomplishment, which could prompt them to retain facts learned during the game more effectively. The game could be ideal for use by students who wish to learn math and master multiplication. The Math Splash may be particularly effective for education students afflicted with attention deficit disorder or dyslexia.

The Math Splash game would consist of a game board, multiplication table cards, tokens and dice. The invention would measure approximately 21 inches long and 14 inches wide. The game could be producible from plastic and cardboard. The game board would be imprinted with a series of movement spaces with multiplication problems and answers. Spaces on the board would curve in a meandering path from the bottom to the top of the board. Selected multiplication table spaces would feature ladders that connect to their answers further up the board. Certain spaces are left blank and feature water chutes that would land a player in pools of water lower on the board. Cards would be printed with multiplication tables for answer verification. To begin the game, each player would select a token and place it on the starting space. On each turn, a player would roll one die and move the token the corresponding number of spaces. Each player must then answer the multiplication problem on the particular space. A player would place the token on the correct answer, which would appear on the board. The player may check the game cards for answer verification. A player would not advance if the question is not answered correctly. If a player landed on ladder space and answered correctly, they would move up the ladder to advance on the board. Similarly, when landing on a water chute space, the player must follow the chute further down the board and repeat the problem. The game would continue until one player reaches the finishing space to win the game.
