Huntsville, AL (PRWEB) May 1, 2008 -- Four therapeutic programs located in Virginia and West Virginia recently hosted a tour for educational consultants across the country specializing in special needs placement. The collaborative effort introduced consultants to new programs, as well as changes and additions to the model of existing programs. In addition, the tour provided participants time to meet with the staff and students of each respective program. New Lifestyles, Winchester, VA, Alldredge Wilderness Journey, Davis, WV, New Dominion School Virginia, Dillwyn, VA, and Greenbrier Academy, Pence Springs, WV sponsored the visit April 7-10. Ron Brown, a Division Director representing Three Springs (http://www.threesprings.com) remarked, "It was a pleasure to have such a range of experience among the participants. We had consultants with multiple years in the industry as well as new consultants." Joining the tour were Jill Porter, Christie Woodfin, Robin Bullington, Elizabeth Donnelly, Susan Grossi, Claire Law, Barbara McCaslin, Loi Eberle, Shelby Swartz, and Leli Sarsozo. "Seeing programs so diverse and meeting with the staff and students was a valuable experience," remarked Jill Porter, from La Jolla, CA, who has worked in the consultant field since 1985. "We always appreciate the clinical savvy of the consultants. But, who would have thought that a consultant tour could actually become a therapeutic experience? This tour's theme 'Focus on the Student' allowed clients to showcase their creativity, insight, and growth. I want the consultants who visited this year to know they met with some very proud and enriched boys and girls, men and women," stated Dr. Ken Cuave, President and Clinical Psychologist of New Lifestyles. For more information on the tour or to participate in a future 'Focus on the Student' tour with the four programs, please contact Kathy Parker, Senior Referral Relations, New Dominion/Three Springs, Inc. at 434-977-1752.
