Television Ad Campaign

Chriopractic injury support group takes to the airwaves.

Wethersfield, CT (PRWEB) October 31, 2007 -- The Chiropractic Stroke Awareness Group (CSAG) has initiated a television advertising campaign on the Fox affiliate in Connecticut asking the question, "Have you been injured by a chiropractor?" The TV commercial then provides contact information for victims to seek information and support.

The commercial, which can be seen on WTIC-TV Fox 61, is part of an overall effort (including print and outdoor advertising) to make the public more aware of the risks of chiropractic treatment.

"We believe this will be an effective way to let more people know that we are here and that we can help," said Amanda Thompson of CSAG. The organization represents the interests of hundreds of members across the country.

"In spite of our members' injuries we are not anti-chiropractic," Thompson said. "We only want people to understand the risks before they seek chiropractic treatment and to help those who have already been injured."

The number of people being injured appears to be increasing and CSAG is aware of at least seven deaths in the U.S. this year alone.

"People today are warned about all sorts of risks - from surgery or prescription drugs to air bags and hot coffee," Thompson said. "We think the risk of stroke and even death from a chiropractic manipulation is worthy of warning the public."

The multi-billion dollar chiropractic industry has responded to the organization's public education efforts with a well-funded smear campaign of intimidation and misinformation.

"They cannot silence us," Ms. Thompson said. "Their attempts to divert attention from the facts will not succeed because this is an issue of patients' rights."
