Honor or Remember a Loved One Affected by Parkinson's -- Sponsor a Skydive

The "100 Perfect Jumps for Parkinson's" event is offering donors the opportunity to sponsor a skydive by Kevin Burkart to honor or remember someone affected by Parkinson's disease. Burkart will be doing 100 skydives on Wednesday, June 4, 2008. Proceeds froim the event will divided equally between the Parkinson Association of Minnesota and the National Parkinson Foundation.

Minneapolis, MN (PRWEB) April 1, 2008 -- April is Parkinson's Disease Awareness Month around the world, and what better way to honor or remember someone you love who is affected by Parkinson's than by sponsoring a skydive in their name?

For a tax-deductible donation of $100, donors can sponsor one of skydiver Kevin Burkart's "100 Perfect Jumps for Parkinson's Disease." Names of those being honored or remembered will be read over the public address system prior to each jump. Donors will also receive a signed photo of Burkart skydiving.

"Sponsoring a jump is so much more than making a donation. We think that this is a unique way to honor the courage and tenacity demonstrated by people who have lived or are living with Parkinson's disease," said Jackie Hunt Christensen of the Parkinson Association of Minnesota. "I am dedicating a jump to my husband and to all caregivers, because they live with the disease just as much as we patients do."

On Wednesday, June 4, 2008, at SkyDive Twin Cities, Parkinson's disease advocate Kevin Burkart will complete 100 skydives in one day - that's one jump every six to eight minutes! The first jump will be in honor of Burkart's father, Gary, who has Parkinson's disease.

Burkart hopes to raise a minimum of $40,000 with the event. Proceeds will be divided equally between the Parkinson Association of Minnesota and the National Parkinson Foundation.
