Voyage Healthcare Recieves Gold Seal Approval From JCAHO

Voyage Healthcare (Voyage Staffing and Voyage Nursing), a leading provider of healthcare staffing services, announced that is has received the Gold Seal Approval from The Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO), effective July 28, 2008.

Orlando, Fla. (PRWEB) September 25, 2008 -- Voyage Healthcare (Voyage Staffing and Voyage Nursing), a leading provider of healthcare staffing services, announced that is has received the Gold Seal Approval from The Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO), effective July 28, 2008.

After an extensive on-site assessment, JCAHO's Health Care Staffing Services (HCSS) Certification process verified that Voyage has the abilities to provide experienced staffing services as well as evaluating performance. The review is designed to provide a complete evaluation that exemplifies a staffing firm's commitment to a higher standard of services. Being certified enhances Voyage's contract opportunities, develops risk management and risk reduction, in addition to providing a management framework for quality, safety and improving performances as well as increasing credibility.

"Certification recognizes Voyage's dedication to providing Healthcare Professionals that are qualified to provide safe, high-quality care to patients," says Noal Curley, CEO of Voyage Healthcare. "We're proud to receive the Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval™. This certification assures our employees and clients that we are dedicated to the highest standards and will always strive for continuous process improvement and employee satisfaction. "

The ongoing shortages of nurses, pharmacists and other health care professionals have forced health care organizations to increasingly fill positions with temporary workers through contractual arrangements with staffing firms. The Joint Commission's certification program, launched in October 2004, offers an independent, comprehensive evaluation of a staffing firm's abilities to provide competent staffing services.

"Health care organizations that contract with Voyage can look to this certification as an assurance that Voyage demonstrates a commitment to providing and continuously improving quality services," says Michele Sacco, M.S., executive director, Health Care Staffing Certification, Joint Commission.

Founded in 1951, The Joint Commission seeks to continuously improve the safety and quality of health care provided to the public through the provision of health care accreditation and related services that support performance improvement in health care organizations. An independent, not-for-profit organization, the Joint Commission is the nation's oldest and largest standards-setting and accrediting body in health care.
