ACLS Teaching Scenarios Available for Use by Hospital Medical Professionals on the VitalSim™ equipped ALS Simulator

ACLS VitalSim Scenarios support The ACLS Provider Course by utilizing simulation based education to educate learners in ACLS.

Wappingers Falls, NY (PRWEB) December 20, 2008 -- Laerdal Medical Corporation, one of the world's leading providers of Healthcare Solutions, has partnered with the American Heart Association to release new simulation testing scenarios for the ACLS course, the American Heart Association ACLS Scenarios for the ALS Simulator.

The Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Provider course and scenarios are designed for healthcare providers who either train or participate in resuscitation of a patient in or out of a hospital setting. These scenarios test providers' skills and treatment of arrest and peri-arrest through active participation in a series of simulated cardiopulmonary cases.

The AHA ACLS Scenarios, originally created for SimMan® Simulators, have been reprogrammed to operate on Laerdal's Advanced Life Support (ALS) Simulator. This simulator utilizes VitalSim technology to provide a realistic and interactive training experience. It can simulate conditions requiring a wide range of advanced life-saving skills in pre and post hospital emergencies. The simulator responds to clinical interventions, instructor control, has spontaneous breathing, airway control, voice and heart sounds and ECG output as well as other clinical features.

The ACLS Scenarios package contains 31 cases for use on the ALS Simulator and are available now for purchase at $4194. Learn more at http://www.laerdal.com/courseware.
