Dr. Beverly Malone began her tenure as chief executive officer of the National League for Nursing today with a promise to make its voice heard around the world during this pivotal time for nursing and health care. New York, NY (PRWEB) February 1, 2007 -- Dr. Beverly Malone began her tenure as chief executive officer of the National League for Nursing today with a promise to make its voice heard around the world during this pivotal time for nursing and health care. Dr. Malone stepped down as general secretary of the Royal College of Nursing in December 2006 after nearly six years. During her tenure, membership rose to 390,000, making it the largest professional union for nurses in the world. Prior to joining the RCN, she served as deputy assistant secretary of health in the US Department of Health and Human Services during the Clinton Administration. From 1996 to 1999, Dr. Malone served as president of the American Nurses Association, acting as liaison between leaders and policymakers within the association, across government, and throughout the health care field.
