NLN Research Grants Program Advances the Science of Nursing Education: Proposals Due by March 7
Funding is available to NLN members to develop, design, and execute research initiatives that will have broad-based significance, be critical to decision-making and policy-setting at institutional and national levels, and help to transform nursing education. NLN 2008 Research Priorities: Innovations in Teaching in Clinical Settings, Evaluation of Clinical Performance, and Creating Reform in Nursing Education. New York, NY (PRWEB) January 24, 2008 -- The NLN's ongoing grants program supporting nursing education research is one of the few such programs in existence. Funding is available to NLN members to develop, design, and execute research initiatives that will have broad-based significance, be critical to decision-making and policy-setting at institutional and national levels, and help to transform nursing education. "The development of faculty as educator-scholars takes a front seat at the NLN," said NLN CEO Dr. Beverly Malone. "We so value the research proposals submitted by our members who are eager to play an increasingly integral role in advancing the science of nursing education." Grants are awarded to NLN members based on the significance of the subject matter they plan to investigate and on the quality of the proposed research design. All projects must be aligned with the NLN's Priorities for Research in Nursing Education. In 2008, priority will be given to research projects that focus on "Innovations in Nursing Education: Creating Reform"; special preference will be given to studies that address innovations in clinical teaching and evaluation of clinical performance, as well as studies that are multi-site in nature and that address the increasing diversity of the student population.
