Glemser Announces xmContentTM

Glemser Technologies, a Pennsylvania-based pharmaceutical software and services company, today revealed plans for xmContentTM, its Documentum-based structured content authoring platform designed to manage controlled content in XML format.

Bethlehem, PA (PRWEB) May 20, 2007 -- Glemser Technologies, a Pennsylvania-based pharmaceutical software and services company, today revealed plans for xmContentTM, its Documentum-based structured content authoring platform designed to manage controlled content in XML format.

With the large number of legacy document management systems currently in place at many life sciences companies, xmContent is an ideal platform for document management upgrade and consolidation initiatives as companies seek to reduce their portfolio of supported applications, even as they embrace the use of new XML technologies. xmContent is a comprehensive, configurable application environment for managing controlled content in a variety of formats, including XML, MS Word, PDF and others.

xmContent enables companies to manage XML-based content at the document level or as re-usable content fragments that can be assembled into multiple documents. Since regulatory content is commonly shared across multiple documents, the componentization and re-use of content provides significant operational efficiencies.

xmContent is built on Documentum 5.3 using the Webtop interface and supports a variety of XML editors, including Arbortext Editor (formerly Epic Editor) from PTC and Xpress Author from In.vision. xmContent includes comprehensive 21 CFR Part 11 support, including audit trails and eSignatures. It can be configured for the effective management of manufacturing, clinical, marketing, labeling and other types of other controlled content.

According to Ray Glemser, the President of Glemser Technologies, "xmContent is the logical next offering in Glemser's product development roadmap. Our first packaged solution, xmLabeling®, is optimized for the specific tasks associated with global eLabeling business processes and the submission of labeling content in SPL and PIM formats. xmContent is a general-purpose application that addresses the requirements for managing any type of controlled content in XML format. XML enables companies to focus their efforts on content development, not on low-value content-formatting activities. xmLabeling and xmContent share a common architecture. Our vision is to provide a solution to the evolving needs of pharmaceutical companies for a single architecture to manage structured content in any format."

A 20-year old firm, Glemser focuses exclusively on the life sciences market. Today, Glemser is adding software applications and solution frameworks to its portfolio of service offerings to provide complete solutions to its clients with reduced risk, reduced total cost, and increased value. The announcement of xmContent is an important step in the firm's evolving solutions strategy.

Founded in 1987, Glemser designs and implements XML and content management solutions for life sciences companies. Glemser's solutions help our pharmaceutical, consumer healthcare, medical device, and biotechnology clients effectively address the information management needs of their research and development, regulatory affairs, manufacturing, quality assurance and sales and marketing organizations.
