Pennsylvanian Biotech Company Selects VISTA for Multi-National EDC Clinical Trial

VISTA, a web-based technology designed for use in electronic data capture (EDC) clinical studies, adds new business with a Pennsylvania-based biotech company.

Media, PA (PRWEB) September 20, 2007 -- Scientific Software Tools, Inc. (SST), a leader in the area of technology-enabling software and services for clinical trials, announced today that VISTA, a web-based technology designed for electronic data capture (EDC) clinical studies, has been chosen by a Pennsylvania-based biotech company for use in its multi-national EDC clinical trial.

Traditional manual processes used in clinical trials are tedious and time-consuming, resulting in numerous inefficiencies that are especially apparent when dealing with international sites that are geographically dispersed. VISTA improves the communication flow between these remote investigative sites and the study sponsor, thus ensuring that the necessary information required is obtained quickly and easily.

Elise Furman, President of Scientific Software Tools Inc., said, "Study sponsors and investigators have recognized that the use of automation in clinical studies can help to avoid unnecessary delays and problems that are often created by inefficient manual processes. We are clearly starting to gain traction with pharmaceutical and biotech sponsors who are recognizing the value of the VISTA technology in improving the data collection process and aiding in the success of EDC clinical trials."

"VISTA has consistently exceeded the expectations of our pharmaceutical and biotech customers by providing an automated solution that is robust yet user-friendly for non-technical investigators. We will continue to improve and upgrade VISTA to provide a high-quality product that enhances the study experience for all stakeholders involved in a clinical study."
