The patent-pending footrest was created by Karen Tinsley-Kim, an ESL/EFL instructor at the University of Central Florida in Orlando. The Redema Ottoman Footrest is inflatable, very lightweight and entirely portable, and it is currently available at Redema.us.

"The Redema Ottoman Footrest offers multiple levels of elevation while remaining entirely portable. It is small enough to fit under an airline seat or small desk, and fully inflated can provide elevation at or above chair-level," says Tinsley-Kim. "It can also be used in bed or on the sofa to elevate legs above heart-level. Being almost weightless when it is inflated while providing the support desired, the Redema Ottoman Footrest is the only product of its kind on the market today."

The two-chambered rectangular footrest or ottoman offers four levels of elevation, has an adjustable carrying strap and tote pocket, and can be used to hold other lightweight items like magazines. Five of the six sides have a suede-like surface to quietly and securely hold legs and feet in place, and the remaining side provides additional protection from punctures when used on the floor. The ergonomic footrest weighs less than two pounds, and has caught on quickly since its development.

"The Redema Ottoman Footrest is now in use on every continent in the world," says Kim, "which is remarkable to me after being on the market for just over a year."

The Redema Ottoman Footrest is available on the Redema website, which contains additional information about the product and its remedies for leg edema.
