Oregon Psychotherapist and First Time Author Honored by Three Book Awards

DEH® Book Cover
DEH® Book Cover

Salem-based psychotherapist and author of the book "Dynamic Energetic Healing®" (Columbia Press LLC, 2006), receives recognition as a "Finalist" by a second book award and "Notable" by a third. The book introduces a new psychotherapy model that provides a welcome alternative to talk therapy and the prescription of antidepressants. This recognition coincides with National Anxiety and Depression Awareness Week May 6 - 12, 2007.

Salem, OR (PRWEB) May 3, 2007 -- Salem-based psychotherapist and author of the book Dynamic Energetic Healing®: Integrating Core Shamanic Practices with Energy Psychology Applications and Processwork Principles (Columbia Press LLC, 2006), knows a thing or two about writing. After receiving recognition as a Finalist for a first book award in November 2006, Brockman received more good news in April that his book was recognized as a Finalist by a second book award and "Notable" by another. With all this recognition, Brockman wonders if there will be enough room on the book jacket for three award stickers, joking, "We might need a larger cover."

Brockman's book introduces a new psychotherapy model that provides a welcome alternative to talk therapy and the prescription of antidepressants. "This model helps people transform the 'energetic origins' of traumatic and psychological wounds rather than drudging up the past or medicating the symptoms," Brockman says.

Thus far, the book has been recognized as a Finalist by the BEST BOOKS 2006 Book Awards in the New Age: Non-Fiction category; Finalist by the 2007 Nautilus Book Awards in the Health & Healing category; and Notable by The 2007 Eric Hoffer Award (formerly the Writers' Notes Award) in the Health & Self-Help category.

In the Dynamic Energetic Healing® model, Brockman integrates ancient spiritual healing practices with modern psychotherapy by synthesizing three different healing modalities: energy psychology, core shamanic practices and process-oriented psychology. Brockman explains DEH® as, "an energy-based psychotherapy that provides an alternative for the millions of Americans frustrated with the over-prescription of antidepressants and countless hours of talk therapy''.

Dynamic Energetic Healing® has proven successful in addressing depression, posttraumatic stress disorder, eating disorders, anxiety and panic attacks, addictions, dissociative disorders, the emotional/mental underpinnings of physical illness and the spiritual and developmental issues that surface in mid-life.

Brockman's book discusses the origins of DEH®, provides an outline of the DEH® model including various interventions, illustrations, and a protocol for how to use them. His book also includes 17 case histories that demonstrate the transformative power of Dynamic Energetic Healing®.

This recognition comes just in time for National Anxiety and Depression Awareness Week May 6 - 12, 2007. Throughout the week, Brockman will be available for media interviews to discuss Dynamic Energetic Healing®, its applications for treating anxiety and depression, and to share some relevant success stories. According to sponsors, more than 17 million Americans suffer from an anxiety disorder each year and more than 19 million suffer from a depressive illness. National Anxiety and Depression Awareness Week is sponsored by the American Psychiatric Association; American Psychological Association; Anxiety Disorders Association of America; Freedom From Fear and others.
