Ironwood Residential Treatment Center Asks: Could Your Daughter be the Next Lindsay Lohan?

Tabloids are thrilled with material as Paris Hilton goes to jail, Lindsay Lohan goes to rehab, and Britney Spears goes berserk again… and again. What are Hollywood's most popular "celebutantes" showing America's youth? While this question may be a rhetorical one, perhaps it's a signal for the rest of us to tune in. What's going on with modern youth and where do destructive behaviors begin? Ironwood Residential Treatment Center offers expert advice to help parents nationwide.

New York, NY (PRWEB) August 15, 2007 -- Founders of Ironwood Residential Treatment Center, a teenage course correction facility in Maine, are on a quest to deliver a message to parents across the country. "There is hope, and there is help out there. Don't give up on your teen, they may need you now more than ever," explains Marion Rodrigue, co-founder.

From depression to distress, drinking to drugs, anxiety to anger and insult to injury, America's teens are putting themselves at risk everyday. It is impossible to ignore the staggering statistics that have become a current reality; a normal occurrence in our society.

Recent studies show:

   - 5000 alcohol-related deaths among teens were reported last year
   - 1 million teenagers admit to binge drinking
   - 1 in 10 teens drives under the influence
   - 1 in 5 teens abuses prescription drugs
   - Over 1.5 million teens run away from home every year

Perhaps the first step to a solution is a shift of expectations. The world is no longer what it was 15 or even five years ago. Why should our teens be? Teens today are quite different, faced with an ever rising number of pressures, demands and burdens.

They require a new level of nurturing and understanding; or maybe just a taste of the simple life.

Rod and Marion Rodrigue learned this the hard way when they discovered their teenage daughter was on a downward spiral. Her erratic behavior prompted their in-depth investigation of a suitable treatment option. The Rodrigue's heartfelt search left them with a newfound inspiration to build the best facility in the world.

"We run everything through the same exact filter," says co-founder Rod Rodrigue. "Would we want those people? That therapy for our child? And if it is, that's what we do."

The Rodrigue's share their story with parents across the country in an effort to help families regain hope, confidence and the presence of a child they love. They explain what signs parents can look for, what options parents have, and how to stop the problem before it escalates.

Rod and Marion Rodrigue are available for live interview by appointment. To schedule an interview please contact Julia Berezovskaya at 212-206-8160 or by e-mail at juliab @ plusmedia.com.
