Market Leading Healthcare Documentation System Now Available To Transcription Companies Seeking To Compete With EMR

Scribe now offers medical transcription companies a stand-alone documentation system - Scribe MD Platform. Scribe MD Platform bridges the gap between email and EMR.

Lake Forest, IL (PRWEB) July 14, 2008 -- Scribe Healthcare Technologies, Inc. (http://www.scribe.com), announced the release of its proven MD Platform as a stand-alone product for medical transcription companies. Historically the MD Platform was only available if you typed on the "Complete" Scribe platform. When the MD Platform is sold as a stand-alone product, transcription companies simply upload documents for delivery and management by their respective customers.

Scribe MD Platform is a Web-native technology that facilitates physician, office staff and transcription service provider workflow for processing and storing medical records. "Our goal is to provide incremental improvement rather than revolutionizing the process" said John Weiss, Vice President of Scribe Healthcare Technologies, Inc. "Often times our technology reduces the workload for physicians by 20-30%. By removing some steps and slightly changing others Scribe MD Platform minimizes perceived change while preparing the physician for the EMR. Since the change is incremental the physicians typically resist less."

Customers such as Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush are gaining efficiencies by leveraging the Scribe MD Platform. Billing and administrative staff have access to patient information necessary to expedite reimbursement. Integrated fax and email speed communication and provide unprecedented tracking. Academic medical centers such as the University of California, San Francisco leverage the MD Platform to research clinical information via Scribe's 'advanced search' functionality. Full 'Google type' searching is available to obtain information on drugs, procedures, etc.

Scribe MD Platform is now positioned to be purchased by medical transcription companies that have existing internal technologies but lack the proper external document delivery systems. According to Mr. Weiss, in the past transcription companies had to convert their existing technologies to add a document delivery and management systems. Now with Scribe offering the MD Platform as a stand-alone system the transcription companies can offer their customers a market leading technology without disrupting their existing systems.

Scribe MD Platform allows medical transcription companies to:

•    Deliver documents securely via the Web

•    Offer a secure Web repository with digital signature

•    Enable authorized sharing of information to other systems, physicians and patients

•    Provide an audit trail and reporting for data/records

The records are kept in the repository for the life of the relationship. Secure access is available from any computer with Internet connection.

The Scribe pricing model is based on a "per user storage fee". "Scribe's pricing model is that of a low cost provider while delivering a high value service" said Mr. Weiss. "We have a small setup fee that includes a branded site for the transcription company. After that, we charge a fee that is on par with today's online data storage companies". Scribe houses the data in redundant Qwest CyberCenters.
